The Solution
Security Tracks blends proven technologies into a new concept for automatic,
real-time logging of well-being checks at Detention Centers.
A Trackpad is installed at each cell block location or checkpoint throughout the
facility. The Trackpads feature a two line display to send messages and responses to the jailer
and a keypad to allow the jailer to log additional information as well as communicate with other
Trackpads and the
Detention Center control room. The Trackpads also contain a
proximity badge reader.
Each jailer wears a unique identification badge which is automatically
"read" by the Trackpad whenever that jailer nears a
checkpoint. As the jailer passes by each checkpoint, their presence at that
location is automatically logged without any activity required by the
jailer. They do not need to place the badge on the Trackpad, they simply
need to pass near the Trackpad.
Each Trackpad of the Security Tracks system can be
programmed with a well-being check interval which determines how often that area needs
to be observed. Each time that location is checked, the event is
automatically logged and
the check cycle is reset. If any area goes past the time it is due for a
check, an alert
is triggered on the Monitoring Panel in the Detention Center Control Room and can also be
"broadcast" to all the Trackpads that are part of the system.
That overdue check is also automatically entered into the Security
Tracks logs.
All of this information from each Trackpad throughout the Detention Center
facility travels over the Security Tracks data
collection network and is stored on the secure server computer that manages the
entire Security Tracks system.
Because log entries are made automatically and in real-time, the Detention Center staff members
are now free to direct their vigilance to the security and safety of the
facility. They now have the Security Tracks
solution.
