The Concept
What is needed is a system that automates
this entire process. Detention Center staff need to be able to make their
rounds and interact with inmates. Their time needs to be focused on the security of
the facility and the safety of inmates and staff. They need to spend less
time on paper work, yet all logging requirements need to be complete,
comprehensive and current. What is needed is a system that automatically makes the log entries
for them and reminds them when the next check of an area is due.
Ideally, this system would not only automatically make these log entries, but
record which jailer made the well-being check.
Additionally, this system would account for all the time staff members are
present in the cell area. Jailers often spend a great deal of
time around the inmates, but that presence wasn't always recorded with other systems. A check wasn't due, so nothing was written down.
The ideal solution would automatically construct complete and accurate
real-time logs that
would paint a true picture of all the security and supervision present in the
Detention Center. This system would also provide a means of easily
searching these logs to verify all requirements were being met and be able to
provide that proof in the event of any litigation or accusations. The
ideal solution is Security Tracks.
